Application Process
- Applications for the 2024-25 cycle are closed.
- Applications will be blinded (removing all identifying information such as your name, department, etc.) and scored using a standard rubric by the Clinical Nursing Informatics Team.
- All applicants will be notified by July 19, 2024 regarding the status of their application so that they can plan accordingly.
- Prospective Informatics Champions will submit applications online and include details about the following:
- Description of your interest and goals in informatics and with the champion role

- Applicants are encouraged to describe their commitment to the organization, our mission, any related DEI efforts, and informatics, citing specific actions and examples where appropriate.
- An updated resume must be uploaded with your application.

Once accepted, actual schedules must be negotiated and agreed upon between the champion and champion’s supervisor on a month-to-month basis based on the scope of work that needs to be accomplished, along with expected meeting attendance. Staff will be paid straight time only through your current department; overtime is not approved for Informatics Champion training experiences or project work. Additional significant dates to come once the program starts - such as APeX upgrade support needs (part of the program) and/or unique opportunities that benefit from an Informatics Champion's participation (ex: training efforts, special projects, etc) - are optional and up to the discretion of the Clinical Nurse Informaticist, Informatics Champion, and the Informatics Champion's management.
